CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Saturday night declared cancellation of Class XII nation board examinations in light of this Covid-19 second tide in the nation.
The state authorities held talks with teachers, parents, educationists, healthcare and political parties before few times on running the examinations.
“Although there were mixed comment on running the board examinations, all of these needed to guarantee the protection of the kids.
Covid-19 second tide is still raging from the country and wellness experts also called a third tide.
On the other hand, the state authorities cannot vaccinate Class XII pupils since they are aged below 18 decades,” Stalin said in an declaration.
He said the state government was firm on the policy of running Class XII admissions according to Class XII examination marks.
“But, physicians say postponing the examination further will impact the pupils emotionally.
Depending on the health care information and other guidelines, the state government is cancelling Class XII nation board examinations,” he explained.
The state government has formed a committee led by school instruction secretary Kakarla Usha to determine on the ministry to award marks to admissions to higher educational associations.
Depending on the committee’s account, the marks could be given and admissions will be predicated on these marks, Stalin stated.
He stated while the state government has completed the board examinations in perspective of pandemic, it might not be possible to run all-India degree entrance examinations like NEET.
“I’ve composed a letter to the PM to cancel all of entry examinations.
Although the examinations are cancelled in perspective of pupils wellness, we’ll make sure that admissions into higher academic institutions aren’t influenced,” Stalin explained.
