Tamil Nadu Civic Polling: 73.3% Voting Recorded in the Second Phase

Chennai: The second phase of coercion with local countryside polls in nine districts ended on Saturday with a 73.3% bridge.

Villupuram registered a maximum polling with 83.6% followed by Kallakurichi (82%), Ranipet (75.3%), Tirupathur (73.5%), Kancheepuram (72%), Chengalpet and Tenkasi (70%), Vellore (68 %) and Tirunelveli (65%).
The second phase is to select 62 members of the Pancrayat Environment, 626 members of Ward Panchayat, 1,324 President Panchayat Village and 10,329 village members of the Panchayat Environment.

The polls for 424 posts of rural bodies in 28 other districts were also held on Saturdays.
