Chennai: The fresh Covid-19 case fell to 756 in Tamil Nadu on Sunday from 765 on Saturday, and more than 18.2 lakh people took vaccines in nearly 50,000 camps throughout the state.
“Two days ago, we said the vaccine was obliged to enter all public spaces.
The response to this announcement was very large,” said Minister of Health MA Subramanian.
“Many people come to vaccinations in cities like Chennai because they know they will not be able to enter public spaces without a vaccination certificate.
We also asked for a workspace to ensure all staff were vaccinated,” he said.
“In fact, many people don’t wait for a door-to-door visit now,” he said.
So far, 75% of the population of adults in this country has taken the first dose of vaccines and 39% of them have taken the second dose.
“The goal is to ensure the 100% vaccination of the first dose at the end of the month.
At that time, we also want to ensure that at least 60% of adults are fully vaccinated,” he said.
For this, the state will continue two mega camps per week and door vaccination to the door.
Meanwhile, two districts – Tenkasi and Thirupathur – reported zero new cases while 18 districts reported cases in one digit.
While Coimbatore (130) and Chennai (112) reported cases in three digits, the other two, Erode (80) and Chengalpet (56), each reported 50 cases.

Of the 14 deaths, Chennai reported 5, Tirupur and Thanjavur reported two of each, and coimbatore, Trichy, Madurai, Krishnagiri and Cuddalore respectively.
