Tamil Nadu: Forest Officials to Check Illegal Gold Mine in Pandalur Range

Udhagamandalam: Illegal gold mining in Goldmines RL (backup land) falls under a series of forests in the Gudalur Division have claimed the life of wild animals in the area.

He said, “To protect wild animals from falling into the mining hole, we are working on mitigation strategies.
For now, as a measure of alleviation, a large mining hole will be fenced, while the small mining hole will be filled with the earth.”
