Tamil Nadu Fund Ministry Nirmala Sitharaman insulted Goa in GST Match, says Transportation minister Mauvin Godinho

PANAJI: A verbal spat seems to have broken out prior to the Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman through the GST council assembly on Friday.
Goa’s transportation ministry Mauvin Godinho on Saturday reported the finance minister of Tamil Nadu Palanivel Thiagarajan insulted Goa in the meeting by indicating that being a little nation, Goa’s perspectives should not be given weightage.
Godinho, who symbolizes Goa about the GST council, has required Tamil Nadu chief minister Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin needs to behave contrary to Thiagarajan and persuade him to apologise for almost requesting Godinho to”shut up”.
“Thiagarajan’s situation is that because he comes in a large nation, he must get a larger vote.
It is like saying,” I’m the big brother, so you shut upyou (are the) little brother,” explained Godinho.
Thiagarajan seems to have taken issue with Godinho’s request prior to the GST council to demonstrate inclination towards smaller countries that are struggling financially.
Based on Godinho, Thiagarajan stated that his constituency is so big as the country of Goa and consequently Tamil Nadu must be given added weightage at the council decision making procedure.
Godinho reported the GST council, as a constitutional body, cannot create a differentiation based on people of nations.
He’s resisted the alleged statements made from Thiagarajan and stated belittling of Goa’s perspectives had been a insult for the whole state.
“I take strong heed into how he ran expressed himself at the GST council.
I need Stalin to condemn his ministry for creating such an announcement and allow him to apologise,” explained Godinho.
Sitharaman allegedly advised Thiagarajan that most countries take equal weightage and all decisions are taken by consensus.
