Tamil Nadu has more senior citizens who are not fully vaccinated than expected

Chennai: Tamil Nadu has a much higher part of the elderly people without the protection of the Covid-19 vaccine full of estimated, analysis based on the mid-year mid-year population show.
This is the main risk factor that encourages serious illness and death, after several countries promised to clarify the differences in the estimated population of adults, the Ministry of Health and the welfare of the additional secretary Manohar Agnani sent a specific population of the revised age for TN to Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan.
Tamil Nadu estimates the adult population as 6.06 crore based on the calculation of the state health intelligence bureau, but the census projects it at 5.78 crores.
However, it placed the number of people above 60 at 1.04 crore, higher than the estimated 86 lakh TNS.
This encourages the coverage of the vaccine for the vulnerable elderly population of 51% (the first dose) to 42% although the decline encourages the overall coverage for the first dose to 62% of the previous 59% (first dose).
Even worse, only 18% of the elderly are fully vaccinated compared to the average state of 20%.
After the Delta variant encouraged a daily case up to 36,000 in May, the vaccination rate rises.
“However, almost 3/5 of senior residents remain very vulnerable,” said Radhakrishnan.
The death audit of TN and from all countries shows parents still explain most of Covid-19 deaths.
Virologically Based on Vellore Dr.
T Jacob John has quoted from medical journals and epidemiological statistics from all over the world to show how vaccination increases it causes less death.
“Senior citizens are one of the most vulnerable, which is why the government offered their priority in mass vaccination drives,” he said.
“It is also important to remember that the vaccine offers the desired protection only when the person takes the second booster dose.” Since September 25, TN has reported 149 deaths.
Nearly 108 deaths (72%) are people above 60.
More than 80% have comorbid conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.
“Even though younger adults and not vaccinated make the increased portion of positive cases, most people who are hospitalized and who are dying of Covid-19 are older people and do not experience,” said the disease expert Missing Dr.
Subramanian Swaminathan.
Registering senior citizens for their first shot is a struggle.
“Most people who really want the vaccine have got it.
More people mostly reject immunization because they are not informed, said Minister of Health MA Subramanian.
