Tirupur: Forestry Department on Thursday calmly and captured the four-year-old mutate that attacked two farm workers and an anti-deed observer (APW) in the field of corn in Pappankulam Village here three days ago.
The front line staff department, who camped in Pongupalayam in PeruminoRurur after locals saw big cats, had received information about leopards that attacked a wild dog near the private garment unit warehouse at Ammapalampondi Municipality on Thursday morning.
When the staff reached the place, the animal attacked Rajendran, 66, a warehouse security guard, and hid in the bush near the warehouse, said the Anamalai Tiger Reserve (ATR) Field Director Ramasubramanian.
“We brought a veterinary assistant for the Department of Animal Husbandry e Vijayaraghavan and Veterinary Officers forest Division forest Coimbatore Sukumar to the place.
Vijayaraghavan climbed the building terrace with an arrow gun and our frontline staff using Earthmover to take off the bushes.
When the leopard comes out of hiding and attacking APW, Vijayaraghavan releases two arrows.
The front line staff holds animals and shifts to the cage.
Leopard was translated to the ATR on Thursday night.
