Chennai: Minister of Houses Union Amit Shah on Wednesday convinced Tamil Nadu that the inter-ministerial team of six members will visit the state after night to assess the damage to the flood, according to the Leader of the Parliamentary Party and the DMK TAU.
The Tamil Nadu government sought a central assistance from Rs 2,629 Crore against flood assistance.
Speaking with reporters after a meeting with Shah in New Delhi, Balu said he had submitted a government note to the Union minister about the direction of the ministerial head, seeking the main relief of Rs 2,079 Crore to permanent restoration and RS 550 Crore to take temporary relief and restoration.
“The Union Minister said he would send a team tonight and immediately decide on further action after they returned.
