Chennai: Because of the uncertainty of reopening the school and more pressure on online learning, the Mulling School Education Department to reduce the syllabus for the State Council students for the academic year 2021-22.
“In the previous academic year, the Department of School Education reduced up to 40% of the syllabus.
We are discussing reducing the syllabus this year too.
We will immediately make an announcement,” said Minister of School Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said on Monday.
Recently, CBSE has maintained a 30% syllabus cut for class IX to XII for 2021-22 considering the continuation of the online class.
Last year, the State School Ministry of Education has reached 40% optional syllabus for student exam students.
“We cannot ask students to prepare a complete syllabus for the council test in seven months.
Students are studying online and the date of reopening the school is unknown,” said Minister after inaugurating a program for the basic computer functional training for government school teachers.
Computer Basics training will be given to 432 speakers from Monday to Friday.
More than 2.1 lakh teachers will be given training in batches in the basics of computers and the internet to do online classes in zoom and Google meet.
The Minister said the deficit learned because distance learning was a worrying factor.
“Kalvi TV should not be the only media instruction.
We are developing an application and preparing video lessons.
So, we equip our teacher to do lessons and assessments online,” added Poyyamozhi.
