Coimbatore: Police of the All-Woman Puram Hospital on Sunday arrested the Private Matriculation School Principal of a hiding place in Bengaluru in Karnataka in connection with the suicide of class XII students, who were harassed by physics teachers.
The victim’s parents, then, received their daughter’s body, which was kept in a morgue at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital since Thursday night, and impremed it at Athupalam Crematorium after doing the last ritual in their home.
The family member from the deceased had previously taken a stand to accept his body only if the police arrested the principal, Meera Jackson.
The police on Saturday posted them below Section 21 (punishment due to failure to report or record cases) from children’s protection of sexual violations (Pocso).
Meera was the principal of a private matriculation school at Puram Hospital when Teacher, Mithun Chakravarthy, harassed the girl sexually sexually.
School management then moved it to another school.
After Mithun’s arrest, Meera had been hiding and the police on Saturday formed two special teams to arrest her.
“We trace their existence to Bengaluru in Karnataka and arrest it in the early hours.
We have taken it to the police station (Puram Hospital) and questioned him,” said an investigative officer to Ti.
Deputy Commissioner of Police T, Jayachandran, meanwhile, told the media that they had collected a piece of paper from the girl’s house mentioning about someone’s grandfather and someone else’s father, who, he would not be spared.
