Madurai: The Tamil Nadu government announces the ban on manufacturing, storage, transporting and selling the best-selling (cracker series) and fireworks containing barium salt.
According to a statement issued by the government, the announcement was made based on the Supreme Court’s instructions on Friday.
There is no prohibition of all fireworks.
Prohibition is only in the best-selling and those who contain barium salt.
The statement said the Tamil Nadu government had banned the fireworks units that produce such fireworks to obey the command of the Supreme Court.
The public was asked to refrain from the lighting of the forbidden fireworks, said the statement.
This adds that the state government will begin tight action against those who fail to obey the direction of the Supreme Court in this relationship.
