Chennai: Two districts reported zero new cases and 34 of 38 districts reported zero death on Thursday, when Tamil Nadu registered 820 new cases and four deaths.
The number of new cases fell from 828 new cases on Wednesday when the country reported nine deaths.
Chennai filled the list of cases with 125 new cases, followed by 109 in Coimbatore.
While cases in Coimbatore from 101, new cases in Chennai fell from 127.
All other districts reported cases below 100 when 13 others reported a case in one digit.
The state draws a sample of 1.02 lakh people, runs out of 962 patients leaving the country with 10,013 Covid -19 active cases.
The highest number of active cases comes from Chennai (1200) and Coimbatore (1131) and all other districts each have more than 1000 cases.
With 22 active cases, the layer has the least number of cases followed by Thyi (23) and Ramanathapuram (26).
Thenkasi and Theni reported zero cases, followed by one each at Thiorpathur and Ramanathapuram.
Thiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Dindigul and Pengambal reported three cases respectively.
The sharpest decline was reported from Virudhunagar, where the case dropped to four of the seven on Wednesday.
During the same period, Tuticorin and Ranipet reported five and two cases compared to seven and five on Wednesday.
The sharpest increase was reported from Coimbatore.
All other districts report between one and two cases more than the calculation of Wednesday.
Toll-Tally touched 36,251 on Thursday and Chennai, Trichy, Kancheepuram and Thiruvarur reported one of their respective deaths.
The number of people who took the vaccine on Thursday rose slightly to 2.2 lakh pushing a dose of tally to 5.7 crores.
Between Monday and Wednesday, the number of people who were vaccinated floated between 1.1 and 1.2 lakh.
Vaccination at a private hospital moved to 26.85 lakh since May 1.
