Chennai: Tamil Nadu reported a slight increase in the new Covid-19 case on Wednesday with 1,587 infections, pushing overall Kaseeload to 26.27,365 to date, while 18 people surrendered to the virus, took the victim to 35,073.
The state on Tuesday recorded 1,544 cases and 24 deaths.
Restoring a new infection that was a little defeated today with 1,594 people out in the last 24 hours, gathered to 25.76,112, leaving 16,180 active infections, said Bulletin Department of Health.
As many as 1,60,303 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, pushing the cumulative number of specimens examined as far as 4.35,88,378.
Coimbatore contributed most cases (232), followed by Chennai 179, Erode 117 and Chengalpet 115 while the rest were scattered in other districts.
Six districts reported cases under two digits, with the least time (3), while no fresh death in 24.
Two of the deceased did not have an existing disease or comorbidity, the release said.
