Tamil Nadu reported 724 new Covid-19 cases; No omicron variant in the state

Chennai: No one is infected with the Omicron Covid-19 variant so far in Tamil Nadu, Ma Subramanian, Minister of Health, told reporters here on Sunday.
As many as seven passengers, who returned to recent countries from other countries such as Singapore, the United States and the United Kingdom, were tested positively on arrival.
Among them, one was tested negatively and was dismissed from the hospital.
On Sundays, Tamil Nadu added 724 new cases to the Covid-19 registry.
The country throughout the week has been screened more than one lakh sample every day.
