Tamil Nadu reports 1,851 fresh Covid-19 cases, 28 deaths

Chennai: new cases continued to fall further on Monday to 1,851 from 1,896 on Sunday, when nine districts including Thanjavur, Pulajottai, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi and Ariyalur reported an increase in cases.
The highest increase in new cases is in Thanjavur, where new cases rose to 127 out of 106 cases on Sunday, followed by Pulah Pulajottai, which saw up from 25 to 42 for the same time period.
Overall, Coimbatore continued to report the highest number of cases in the state, followed by Chennai and Erode.
But Coimbatore, reported swimming in new cases from 225 on Sunday to 217 on Monday.
The district has 85 roads with at least one Covid-19 case.
Chennai, who reported 205 cases compared to 216 on Sundays.
After reporting a cluster from a birthday party, the temple festival and apartment complex in the last ten days, Greater Chennai Corporation said that until Monday morning there were at least four roads with more than 10 cases each and each with more than six cases.
At the end of June, the city only had two roads with more than 10 cases.
“During the search and contact analysis, we found that most of the outbreaks occur when social distance norms were violated.
Most people who have severe symptoms and hospitalization needed are those who are not vaccinated,” said Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan.
“This small cluster has slowed the level of fall.
Fresh cases in several stagnant districts for almost a month now,” he said.
Of the 28 deaths, Chennai and Tiruppur reported four each, followed by three in Cuddalore, respectively in Thanjavur and Trichy.
While 13 districts recorded one death respectively, 20 districts reported zero death.
Meanwhile, people 4.01LH took vaccines in government centers on Monday, taking a cumulative dose tally to 2.49 cr.

The case fell below 900 in the case of Puducherry Covid-19 down below 900 on Monday in Puducherry.
