Tirunelveli: Pallayamkottai Police in Tirunelveli arrested six people on charges of killing a 25-year-old man on Wednesday night when the man was allegedly fed-teasing the wife of one of the accused.
The victim was identified as M esakki Muthu, 25, a construction worker Thimmarajapuram in Palayamkottai.
The initial question by the police revealed that he had tempted the wife of Sundarapandia, 39, from the same locality.
Sundarapandia warned Muthu to stop him and warn terrible consequences, but the latter ignored it.
On Wednesday night, Muthu spoke with his brother M Sanman, 39, near Vinayagar Temple in Thimmarajapuram when a gang armed with a machete attacking Muthu.
Serman also suffered an injury while trying to save his brother.
Gang members besides Sundarapandia were identified as Manickaraja, 25, Sriram Kumar, 23, and Muthu Kumar, 39, from Thimmarajapuram and Palani, 20, and Nambi, 25, from MeTarnam.
