Coimbatore: The official of the forest department calmly the Bear Sloth who suffered injuries on his left foot while trying to take honey from the silver oak tree in the waterfall near Valparai on Monday night.
SLOTH BEAR was taken to the anti-distribution squad rescue center in Valparai for treatment.
On Monday 3pm, the bear rose to the Oak silver tree and his leg was trapped between two tree branches.
Valparai K Jayachandran’s range officer and his team rushed to a place along with the veterinary officer of the Sukumar Forest and calmed animals with arrows.
Then, he was taken to the treatment center.
Officer Range Jayachandran said that the bear was under supervision.
After treatment is complete, the bear will be released into the reserve forest.
