Chennai: Tamil Nadu will hold two mega vaccination camps every week on Thursday and Sunday, not one on weekends, Minister of Health MA Subramanian said on Tuesday.
For the first time this month, a vaccinated state of more than 4.3 crore people on Tuesday pushed coverage for the first dose of up to 73 percent and the second dose became 35 percent.
“We can increase the number of around 1-1.5 lakh a day up to 4.5 lakh because of the drive from door to door,” he said.
To ensure the state reaches a 100% coverage target for the first dose, the state will intensify efforts by adding another Mega camp every week, he said.
