Chennai: Tamil Nadu on Thursday announced free care to victims of accidents on the road for the first 48 hours.
The state will cover up to RS 1 lakh per person for 81 saving saving procedures, said Chairman of the MK Stalin Minister.
This will include people from states and other countries too.
609 hospitals have been identified for this.
The country has set aside Rs 50 Crore for the first phase implementation “Inuyir Kappom Thittam.” The state will implement a one-year policy and its troops with a ministerial health insurance scheme.
The state will also frame legislation for emergency medical services.
It will focus on five elements – emergency response, rescue and resuscitation, damage control operations, stabilization and rehabilitation.
The state will involve students from schools, colleges, NGOs and community members to change the safety of the road to the people’s movement, Stalin said.
