Chennai: The state government has decided to release 700 inmates of life on September 15 to mark the alert of the birth of the former Minister of C n Annadurai chairman.
Announcement in the State Assembly, Minister M K Stalin said the convicts, who had served punishment for years, were being released with humanitarian reasons.
Meanwhile, Stalin on Monday said the government would establish a new police commission to find out the demands and needs of police personnel.
“The Police Commission will be resumed to recommend a way to strengthen the relationship between the police and the public, to start several essential schemes and launch a new training program for police personnel,” said Minister of Chief, responded to the request for the Grant for the House Department.
