From Julie Mariappan | TNNCHENNAI: Tamil Nadu authorities will constitute an”Economic advisory council to the ministry” with major economic experts from all around the world because its own members.
The authorities assured a white paper detailing the real condition of Tamil Nadu’s financing will be published in July.
Addressing the nation legislative meeting, Colonel Banwarilal Purohit said that the council could contain Nobel laureate Esther Duflo of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, former Reserve Bank of India governor Raghuram Rajan, former chief financial adviser to the central administration Dr Arvind Subramanian, growth economist Jean Dreze and former Union fund secretary Dr S Narayan.
“According to the recommendations of the council, the authorities will revitalise the country’s economy and make sure that the benefits of economic growth reach all sections of society,” Purohit said.
The attention of this nation will be to further increase the industrial base of these districts and also to make sure technological upgradation.
The governor also stated an expert committee composed of industrialists, banking and monetary specialists and government officials will soon be included to invent the strategies for resurrection of MSMEs.
On the energy front, Purihit reported that the state-run energy utilities”Tangedco and Tantransco were facing acute financial crisis because of mismanagement in the last few decades.” A detailed tactical analysis of the financing and governance structure of these utilities will be completed.
The state authorities also declared that necessary steps will be required to maintain local body elections following the level of this Covid pandemic subsided and after assuring the delimitation exercise undertaken formerly was suitable in most respects.
The authorities supplied Rs 10,068 crore towards livelihood aid later assumption of office.
