Towards the festival season, Tamil Nadu has undergone a hyper vaccination mode to cover the entire population in the two main tourist destinations – Ooty and Kodaikanal – with at least one dose, said Minister of Health MA Subramanian.
Expect a large crowd during weekends and long festivals, the State Health Department prioritizes these fields for vaccination.
“We follow up with the second dose also to reduce the burden of disease in these areas.
Until now the vaccine seems to be the only way to prevent hospitalization and death.
Such vaccination will not only protect people in the area, but also encourage confidence in between tourists, “he said.
In addition to tourist destinations, health care providers have vaccinated cities with popular places of worship.
For example, vaccination with at least one dose has been completed for all adults at Puni.
Coverage with one dose is likely to be completed in other places such as Vellasanan, Nagur and Tiruvannamalai.
“In the next four or five days, we will complete vaccinations in Nagaur and Vellasani, where more than 95% of adults have taken the first dose,” he said.
