Madurai: Police on Wednesday destroyed a child’s trading racket in Madurai and saved two children from the couples they had sold since the beginning of this month by a protected mother.
The police were in a trail director of NGOs who were respected well locally who told the mother of a one-year-old boy, Manickam, that he died of Covid and sold it to a jewelry in the city on June 13.

In March, he had acknowledged Manickam, his mother Iswarya, 22, and two other children at home run by NGO Idhayam Trust, led by G R Shivakumar.

Madurai City Police saved Manickam from the owner of his Cannan jewelry shop and his wife, who lived in Ismailpuram here, and handed it to his mother on Wednesday night.
