Chennai: Two boys, studying in class X and class V, washed away while swimming on the Swollen Adyar River near Saidapet on Tuesday.
While one of them was found dead, at least five police teams and fire personnel and rescue were looking for boys missing since Wednesday morning.
The dead boy, identified as R Santhoshkumar, is a resident of Arasu Pannai in Satapet.

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon when both went to swim on the Adyar River near Nandanam.
The river was flooded with continuous rain and excess water released from the Chembarambakkam reservoir.
According to the police, the boys could not swim back because the river was due to desilting work and excess flow.
People who pass, who pay attention to the children struggle in the water, warn the control of fire and rescue.
After this, personnel from Saidapet, Teynampet and Guindy rushed to the place and launched the search operation.
Santhoshkumar was saved after a short search, only one kilometer from the place.
Even though he rushed to the Royapettah government hospital, the doctors stated he was taken dead.
Harish was still missing and rescue personnel had to leave the search mission due to bad light on Tuesday night.
The operation was continued on Wednesday morning.
Police Saidapet has registered a case of further incidents and investigations.
The police said that it was normal for children from the environment to take a bath on the river.
