Coimbatore: A 72-year-old man was hit by a motorcyclist on Wednesday after he bacted him to honk at a private hospital in Coimbatore on Thursday.
According to the police, Podanur in Coimbatore was walking on his way in Vellalore Road at around 7pm on Wednesday when he faced Biker Siva for honking and almost hit him with his vehicle.
Siva, who was accompanied by his wife, got off the bicycle, slapped Ponnusamy and pushed it down.
“He also kicked Ponnusamy and threatened him with a terrible consequence before running away,” said a police officer.
Ponnusamy Marudhachalam’s son, who reached the place, took him to a private hospital for first aid.
The victim then shifted to a private hospital at Sundarapuram where he died on Thursday morning.
Marudhachalam identified motorbike riders as Siva, their neighbor-in-law.
Police Podanur has registered a case against Siva under Section 302 (murder) from the Criminal Code and has formed a special team to arrest it.
