Dhaka: The opening of Bangladesh Tamim Iqbal chose to leave the Twenty20 World Cup this year in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday quoted a lack of time when he continued to recover from a knee injury.
Tamim hurt his knees during the April-May tour in Sri Lanka but Head of Selector Minhajul Abedin was optimistic that the captain of one day Bangladesh would regain his fitness ahead of the World Cup in October-November.
“Game time is the biggest reason.
I have never played this format for a long time,” Tamim, who played the last of the 78 international Twenty20 people in March 2020, said in the video posted on the Facebook page.
“I didn’t think my injury was a concern, because I thought I would be fit before the World Cup.
The main reason is that I don’t think it will be fair to the players who have played in the last 15-16 T20 matches what I haven’t played.” Tamim’s choice.
In the World Cup squad it was seen as a problem that his fitness could be developed and the 32-year-old said he did not stop from the format of 20 overs.
Bangladesh will play Scotland in their first round match on October 17 at Muscat.
