Target of PJK 75MW Solar Power Plants Until August 2023

Chandigarh: UT government has improved the target of solar power plants 75 Megawatt (MW) on August 15, 2023, not affected by the Coronavirus pandemic which pampered the previous plan.
Administration and Community Promotion of Energy and Science and Renewable Technology Chandigarh (Crest) has submitted its proposal to the campaign center ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
Debendra Dalai, UT Special Secretary of the Environment-CEO, Crest, said they had begun to produce 45MW from solar power through various projects.
They aim at an additional 30 MW, including housing projects and the government.
The government recently asked for progress in the installation of solar projects in the city and road maps for further installation of sun plants from the peak.
In a recent review meeting between administrative and department officials, UT has requested the peak to provide details on the ongoing project, in the pipe and finished.
The Ministry of Energy and Renewable has increased the target of the city solar power generation of 50 MW to 69 MW which will be achieved in 2022.
Recently, the Joint Electrical Regulation Commission (JERC) also rejects the administration application for implementing resco (renewable energy company service) model for installation of solar factories in the city.
The Resco model was rejected for Citythe Crest to move Jerc to apply the Resco model in the city.
Crest has proposed this model after the UT administrator V P Singh Badnore approval as a vigilant resident of initial capital investment.
Under the Resco model, UT has planned that private companies will install solar energy plants on private properties, and in return, weighing on building owners far lower than normal electricity levels for around 15 years (or whatever period is agreed upon by tender).
After that the homeowner will get plants.
Building owners and private companies will sign an agreement.
The factory will be installed under clean metering mode, where the solar energy unit is connected to the building’s electrical system and solar energy exported to a customized network in terms of units imported from the electricity department during the billing cycle.
The UT government last year has extended the deadline for solar installations up to 31 Maria 2021.
But recently, UT has not extended the deadline.
Last year, extended deadlines when locking applies.
