Tasar Hub J’Khand started the possibility of silk saree with the basis of experiments

Ranchi: Jharkhand, which is considered to be one of the largest Tasar (Sutra) producers in this country, has begun to produce silk saree with the basis of experiments and plans to increase production in stages.
Jharkhand officials Rajya Khadi and Gramudyog said they had begun to make silk saree in the pilot project at their Weaver training center in Chandil.
Speaking with Toi, CEO of Khadi Udyog, Rakhal Chandra Besra, said, “The initial output and product quality is very encouraging and we feel we can continue in a big way.
We will slowly expand production gradually.” At the initiative, he said, “Jharkhand producing around 40% of the country’s tasar but have not succeeded in producing enough products because of the challenges on the development of capacity and knowledge for years.
During reviews, even the Chairman of the Minister of Hemant Soren asked us why we could not make silk saree from silk produced in here and sell it to the world.

It has distributed sewing machines into 329 women in all states under the Rozgar Yojana Shilpi.
