PANAJI: In an effort to improve the state transportation system and encourage startup to develop solutions for urban mobility, the task force in pursuing the challenges of Transport4all (TTF) Center has been formed by the state government.
Done as part of a smart city mission, the aim is to unite transportation stakeholders, a group of citizens, and startup to bring digital innovation that improves public transport in the state.
Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) has been asked to direct the challenges of digital transport4all innovation by bringing council institutions, NGOs, and community groups to ensure “smooth coordination” for challenges.
The task force will understand the concerns and needs of all stakeholders through surveys and consultations, based on various problems will be identified, said an official with the Directorate of Urban Development.
Startup will then be encouraged to produce solutions that can help overcome commuter concerns and those who use public transportation.
The idea, the official said, is to ensure that the solution developed by Startup works for all stakeholders.
The task force will also oversee the launch of the technology solution based on pilots and evaluates its impact before the broader implementation.
In April, the Ministry of Union for housing and urban matters launched a 4all transportation of challenges for all smart cities and the capital city of the country.
The purpose of the challenge is to change informal transportation services, and prioritize digital innovation.
Smart cities and startups will receive a guide to develop and test various solutions, learn from them, and their scale to build people’s trust in public transportation and improve their mobility.
Transport Director Rajan Satardekar has been appointed as Chair of the Task Force.
Other members are representatives of the CCP, representative of North Goa collector, Panaji Traffic Cell, PWD, TCP, Kadamba Transport Corporation, Goa College of Engineering, and imagine Panaji.
