TUTICORIN: State President BJP K Annamalai on Wednesday question the Tamil Nadu government because it did not allow idol installations in public places during Vinayagar Chaturti while it allowed Tasmac liquor outlets to reopen the number of Covid-19 cases.
Annamalai interacts with reporters at Tuticorin Airport before taking part in a party at Tuticorin and Tenkasi.
“The government has issued orders that allow individuals to celebrate Vinayagar Chaturti by installing idols.
Individually does not require permission from the government to celebrate the festival.
The government can issue several restrictions by repairing the number of people who can take part in public celebrations such as 100 or 200 and 200 Improve responsibility for organizers for compliance, “he said.
Annamalai said that BJP also supports the state government reopens from Monday because the number of Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu drastically declined.
He said that it was not right on the state of the state to find examples from other countries such as Karnataka to issue a ban on the festival when the scenario varies from a state to another.
He said that the Maharashtra government has allowed celebrations by issuing standard operating procedures (SOP) to reduce the spread of pandemic.
Tamil Nadu must follow this example, he said, and hopes that the state government will use the same model.
He said that BJP would strongly oppose the blanket ban on the festival which was only one more week.
He said that their alliance with AIDMK was strong and that the two parties worked together even in the legislative assembly in problems such as Kodanadu Probe and merger from Annamalithaa University with Annamalithaa University.
“Changing the names of schemes when the next political party has occurred for more than three decades.
The DMK who wants to do politics with the difference must stop it,” he said.
