Mumbai: Tata Motors has pocketed a tender 15 Proton fuel fuel fuel-based fuel bus (PEM) from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).
IOCL has invited an offer to supply fuel buses on December 2020, and Tata Motors was chosen in the diligent evaluation process.
All 15 buses will be sent within 144 weeks from the date of signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
In addition to supplying buses to the IOCL Research & Development Center, Tata Motors will also collaborate to carry out R & D projects and collectively study the potential of fuel cell technology for commercial vehicles.
This will be done together testing, maintaining and operating this bus for public transportation in real-world conditions in Delhi-NCR.
The bus will be filled with fuel by hydrogen, produced and shared by IOCL.
BC Vaidya, Chair, Indian oil, stated that this was the first of its type of project in this country brought the largest fuel supplier in the country and the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer on board to take the next cellular & fuel technology.
This initiative will also act as a springboard for various other major programs from Indian oil, which proposes to introduce hydrogen-based mobility on various iconic routes and important sectors in the country.
