Tata Motors binds with Gujarat Govt to establish a vehicle scrapping center

New Delhi: Homegrown Auto Major Tata Motors on Friday said he had hand in hand with the Gujarat government to support the setting of vehicle cutting facilities at Ahmedabad.
The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government through the port and transportation department, said Tata Motors in a statement.
The center of the scrapage, which will be for passenger and commercial vehicles, will have recycling capacity of up to 36,000 vehicles per year.
Tata Motors will establish a scrapping center in relation to the partner, he added.
According to the statement, the Port and Transportation State Department will support in facilitating the approval needed according to the Government’s rules and regulations Gujarat and the design of the vehicle scrappage policy released by the Ministry of Road Transportation and Highway (Morus) to establish registered vehicle scrapping facilities.
Executive Director of Tata Motors and the President (Commercial Vehicle Business Unit) Girish Wagh said, “Indeed is a historical step for Tata Motors, because the company announces its participation in the cutting space of the vehicle.” He said throwing vehicles lately will experience sustainable benefits for ecosystem stakeholders and the environment.
“The scrappage policy by Morth is a welcome step and steps in the right direction to promote a safer and cleaner vehicle in India, and it is an important step in building a circular economy,” Wagh added.
