JAMSHEDPUR: The Tata Steel and Tata Power have worked together to develop solar power projects connected in Jharkhand and in Odisha.
In a statement issued on Friday, Tata Steel said the two companies had signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) of 25 years to prepare a 41MW solar project.
This project will consist of a roof solar panel, floating and installed on the ground.
After being assigned, the electricity project will produce 1,40,93,61,488 KWH Power during its 25-year-old lifetime and will reduce CO2 emissions by 45,210 tons every year, said Major Steel.
“In the past recent, projects about power plants from solar and non-conventional energy sources have gained momentum at our operating location.
We will continue to pursue our clean energy solutions and expand our renewable energy trail,” TV Narendra, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Steel, said.
Tata Power will develop volta capacity of photos for the Tata Steel plant in Jamshedpur (21.97 MWP) and Odisha Kalingananagar (19.22 MWP).
In March this year, the two companies have announced plans to develop a 15mW solar project for Jamshedpur.
In 2017, the Solar Power Management assigned 3MW solar power plants at the Iron-Iron Tata mine in Noamundi in West Singhbhum Regency.
It is the first solar power plant of its kind in iron ore mine in this country.
“This mixed solar PV project is another milestone in our vision with a better tomorrow.
We hope to work with them (Tata Steel) to cover all their other plants throughout the country,” said Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD Power Tata, said.
