Tatas on any pieces in EV import duties for Tesla

New Delhi: The Tata Group, who led the electric car market in India, has opposed import duties in electric cars – as requested by Elon Musk and his company Tesla – said that “contradict” steps with government fame (adoption and manufacturing faster than Hybrid and electrical policies), which are looking for localization and indigenization of green vehicles.
Shailesh Chandra, President of the Motors Motors passenger business unit, said localization incentives remained key to encouraging higher electricity adoption and made it affordable, and thus efforts must be made to make products and components in India against subsidized imports.
Asked whether the government must consider the demands carried out by Tesla and several other manufacturers such as Hyundai to reduce import duties for electricity, Chandra told Tii, “…
it is a little contrary to the direction of the fame program, how it has been articulated and the direction that has been set .
“Chandra said that like many other car makers in India, Tata Motors – which currently contributed more than 90% of EV sold in the passenger car segment through Nexon – has taken a fame policy as a” single reference “because they work on expansion plans their products.
“Fame really focuses on two aspects.
The first aspect is to bring an affordable EV …
which is less than Rs 15 lakh.
The articulation is very clear is the localization.
Because if you have to truly direct electrification sustainably, until you don’t confirm The road map for additional local value, this will not be sustainable.
