Tauktae-hit parrots get healing touch from cops

Rajkot: 2 huge banyan trees at the Amreli authorities headquarters not only improved the campus’ slopes, but have been homes to a large number of parrots whose continuous squawking was a songs into cops’ ears during the day. However, cyclone Tauktae, that invented Amreli on May 17 and 18, uprooted these two decades-old trees. If shedding those trees was a heartbreak, the pleasant sound of parrots too fell silent as almost 1,000 expired and the others got hurt. However, cops, despite their own cyclone-aftermath responsibilities, took out time to make sure that each and every wounded loaf obtained treatment and began chirping in their normal surroundings . What is more, the hospital to get those parrots was put up at the training center of the police headquarters at which members of some non-government organization (NGO) and veterinary physicians were wrapped in. Speaking to TOI, Amreli superintendent of police, Nirlipt Rai, stated,”You will find approximately 3,000 parrots on trees along with policemen rescued around 2,000 that may endure the injuries. They have been attracted to the training center and we phoned a veterinary physician to take care of these critters. After making sure that they had been fit to flyall were published.” The wounded birds were spotted by Harun Rais, a helper sub-inspector who lives in the headquarters with his loved ones. Rais and 2 trainee policemen had gone outside to find the amount of harm on the second evening of this cyclone. “It was normal for me and my kids to listen to the chirping of the birds. It was terrible for me to find dead and wounded birds. I phoned additional trainee policemen and all of us spared the birds also took them into the training center,” Rais said. “The sight of numerous parrots and doves lying hurt, some crushed underneath branches, was awful. We took aid from bird fans and volunteers that worked hard to their therapy,” said the other official at the headquarters. Besides policemen, many people used to float close to the banyan trees simply to observe the birds and listen for their own chirping in the evenings and weekends. In actuality, natives of Amreli city frequently seen the headquarters using corn to nourish the wounded birds.
