New Delhi: A 22-year-old taxi driver was arrested on Monday for allegedly killing his lover by combining his throat in the Dwarka Delhi area when he suspected he was in a relationship with other people, police said.
The 40-year-old woman was killed at her house in Ambrahi Village in the Dwarka Sector 19 on Saturday, they said.
The defendant, Krishhan, established a relationship with the woman for the past five years.
He was friends with the brother-in-law of the woman and touched him, the police said.
The woman began to distance herself from Krishhan after her husband died in February this year.
He also ignored phone calls and text messages.
Because of this, Krishhan began to suspect that he had a relationship with other people, they said.
On Saturday, information was received about the incident, a senior police officer said.
When he reached the place, the woman was found dead with her throat gap.
Robbery efforts were ruled out when they were observed that the entry of his house was friendly, he said.
“When the detailed record of the call from the woman was scanned, we found that he was related to Krishhan,” he added.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Santosh Kumar Meena said, “A murder case was registered and used technical supervision, the defendant was tracked and arrested on Monday in connection with the incident.” During the interrogation, Krishhan claimed to have killed the woman.
He said he decided to kill him when he suspected him in establishing relationships with other people, he said.
The weapons used in the crime commission have not been found, police said.
The woman who had died survived by two children, they said.
