TBMS to speed up the Metro rail project

Letter: The work on the Metro train project will soon be on the fast track as one of the important machines used to build subway networks, tunnel drilling machines (TBM), have reached the city.

The Metro Metro letter project will be a great development of infrastructure with unlimited connectivity throughout the city.
The Metro Phase Letter – 1 consists of an underground stretch of 6.5 km from Kapodrato Chowk Bazar through Labheshwar Chowk, Central Gudang, letter train station to the hospital.
The station will be developed at all locations and the length of each underground station is almost 200 m, while the depth ranges from 11m and 33m.
This underground station will be connected through a twin tunnel that has a diameter of 6.8m digital and with a diameter of 5.8m.
Tunnels from Metro rails will be built using four TBMS high-tech earth pressure balances with international standards in design and construction.
The selection of TBMS has been carried out after a detailed land investigation and preparation for interpretive geotechnical (GIR) by a detailed design consultant, therefore specifically designed to meet the project geology.
“TBMS provides high security in the tunneling work environment and does not have an impact on the surface structure.
This provides high performance in deep and long tunnels that lead to low tunnel maintenance costs and high construction levels when it comes to soft land, especially considering the geology of the City Letter,” said a Metro official told toi.
About why TBMS will be deployed, the official explains that these machines make sound, vibration, and relative surface disorders can be ignored so that it makes the ideal choice of tunneling methods for underground development in urban areas.
“Tunneling is safe using EPB TBMS is a proven method for the development of underground tunnel infrastructure in densely populated areas of the old city with buildings because it provides great control of the effects of the tunnel induced to the surface for existing building structures,” he added.
