New Delhi: Tata Consultation Services (TCS) on Wednesday said it plans to invest up to $ 40 million per year in global sponsors who run and related community programming from 2022 to 2029.
The Mumbai-based company also signed an eight-year contract with New York Road runners (NYRR) to expand the title and sponsor of technology from the TCS New York City Marathon up to 2029, a statement said.
The TCS partnership which was expanded by NYRR following the announcement earlier this month will be a new title sponsor from London Marathon starting in 2022.
“Collectively, TCS plans to invest $ 30 million to $ 40 million per year in global sponsors and related community programming from 2022 Up to 2029, “he said.
Chairman of TCS (North America) Surya Kant said the company was happy to expand its sponsor from TCS New York City Marathon, the most important event in the world.
“We sponsor running events around the world because we want to inspire the local community to live a healthy and active lifestyle, and also because of the clear parallel between the marathon and the growth and journey of the transformation we ask,” he added.
As part of the sponsor, TCS will launch the new TCS New York City Marathon application that combines augmented reality (AR) features that become popular for virtual races during a pandemic.
The new version will include features to support runners directly and virtually along with a surprising-and-fun AR experience.
Fans and athletes will be able to access real-time runner tracking, digital cheering cards, and predictors of finishing time.
TCS said it would donate $ 4 million to the Youth and Community Program, including the Rising New York Road Runners – a free national NYRR program that combines physical education to school days.
TCS will also develop a marathon version of the IT stem education contest that will challenge students to develop application concepts that promote lifestyle and active inclusiveness, he added.
In addition, the company will host the TCS teacher program teacher who will choose 50 teachers from all over North America who show the ability to share their passion with students.
The chosen teacher will receive a free race entry, VIP racing day experience, and marathon-themed lesson plans for students from the TCS ‘Stem Education Program, turn on my future at school.
