T’puram: K Ananthagopan was appointed as the new president of the Devaswom Travancore board here on Monday.
Manoj Chagalel was appointed as a new member of the council.
Secretary of Devaswom, Gayatree Devi gave an office oath to new officials in the presence of officials including the Minister of Food and Civil Equipment GR Anil, MLAS Mathew T Thomas and Jinesh Kumar and TDB PM members.
Ananthagopan and Manoj were nominated by the government after former President N Vasu and members of K S Ravi finished their term on Saturday.
As soon as the ceremony swore – the first council meeting was held under a new president, who decided to increase the number of spot booking counters at Sabianimala as soon as it rained.
