Panaji: School contract teacher, who has protested for the past few days at Azad Maidan in Panaji, decided to temporarily suspend their agitation on Wednesday after the head of the Minister of Pramod Sawant met with them.

The teachers, however, said that they also fought regularly of their services and that their agitation was only suspended while being based on their meeting with CM.
“I have issued an order 10 days ago.
They got a paid RS 16,000, which salary will now hiking to rs 25,000 a month.
Until now, they are paid only ten months in a year, now they will be paid all year.
I don’t know why They sat down to strike.
Because I already told them that the order to revise their salary was issued, “Sawant said.
The teachers were appointed by the state government based on the contract under Goa Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, utilizing the central government.
Teachers are engaged to teach from class I to VIII, which acts as an additional aid for regular teachers at school.
The contract teachers, however, said that they were involved in a contract base for several years now and after dedicating so many years of service must be considered for regularization by the government.
“We have done whatever we can for teachers.
Five to six teachers did not meet the required qualifications, but we have given them anything suitable in the regulation,” said the minister’s chairman.
A few days ago, the teachers refused to call for their attacks even based on guarantees to climb their salaries by the minister’s chairman.
However, on Wednesday, Sawant presented orders that had been incurred to increase salary.
