Teacher, villagers raise Rs 40L for school

Latur: Zilla Parishad Teachers and Residents of Deoni Tehsil Village in Maharashtra Latur District conducted Yeomen services to their educational causes by collecting Rs 40.78 lakh to renovate the school.
Manoj Raut’s block development officer on Tuesday said 261 teachers and a number of villagers went about convincing people about the cause and their needs to contribute.
“They visited every village in Tehsil, holding a meeting of parents, tracing selected representatives from the level of Gram Panchayat and managed to collect Rs 40.78 lakh from the public to renovate the ZP school,” said Rauced.
In the village of Wagnalwadi, for a meeting like that, a 75,000 RS Corpus was immediately raised and put in a box, he said.
There are 54 villages and 45 grams of Panchayats in Tehsil, which has 65 ZP schools, 60 of them are being renovated, said an official, adding that RS 40 lakh collected, the number of 23 lakh was raised by the villagers and the rest.

Raut said the renovation was being carried out as part of the ‘Bala project’ under the Chief Executive Officer Abhinav Goyal.
Renovation posts, ZP schools have attracted more students, many of them left the English high school around him, said Deoni Pancayat Samiti Deputy Chairperson of Shankarrao Patil Talegaokar.
“There has been a 5.80 percent increase in the strength of students in ZP schools in Deoni,” Talegakar said.
