Pune: Mundhwa police on Saturday was arrested by a 43-year-old professional with an accusation of an offer to kill a policeman by dragging him on the hood of his car for around 800 meters, between Mundhwa Chowk and Kharadi bypass Chowk, after he was asked to pay the traffic penalty that was delayed by Rs 400 on Friday afternoon.
The suspect, who worked at an IT company in Kharadi, was returned in police custody until October 20.
“The suspect was not drunk, but he risked the life of the Havaldar Sheshrao Jaybhay police by dragging his engine hood while driving at high speed.” Said Bhosale’s sub-inspector, who was investigating this case.
“Jaybhay suffered an injury to two fingers in his right hand and left leg.
The suspect submitted an apology after he was detained, but his actions were not forgiven.
He was involved in serious crimes and the question would help us build motives behind bad behavior with the police in such a way,” said Bhosale.
Jaybhay, posted with a traffic police control room, told TII that he was on duty with other police in the Mundhwa traffic signal.
“Traffic police have launched a special drive to check the vehicle to restore delayed fine.
We stopped the IT employee to Kharadi from Hadadadi and after checking the vehicle registration number on the police application, I found that he had not paid a fine of Rs 400 even after e-challan issued, “Jaybhay said.
“I asked him to pay a fine through a debit / credit card, but he refused and took a fight with me.
He accused the police being unable to do their job and try to squeeze the driver,” Jaybhay said.
“The suspect suddenly turned on the car and would drop me, but I caught the eraser and ended in the hood,” Jaybhay said.
Chase happens, according to Jaybhay.
“The suspect began driving at high speed in Zig-zag’s attitude.
A police officer chased him with a bicycle and signaled him to stop but was in vain.
People who passed on two-wheeled vehicles they also chased him,” Jaybhay said.
After realizing that he was pursued, the suspect slowed down and Jaybhay said he could get off the vehicle.
“IT professionals were intercepted in Kharadi bypass Chowk and to detention.
He was handed over to Mundhwa police for further action,” he added.
A pine related to the offer to kill a police officer, preventing him from issuing his duties and endangering life below 307, 353 and 336 IPC laws and motor vehicles registered on Friday.
