Kolkata: 29-year-old Techie was arrested on Monday night from a newly flat city for allegedly killing his live-in-partner pair, a senior colleague, four days ago.
Debabrata Pati, a Kaliakak resident in Malda, was picked up from rented accommodation in New Town based on the complaint submitted by the sister.
According to the police, Pati claimed to have banged on his partner’s head, Richa Singh (35), during a heated fight.
The woman fell unconscious and she was taken to the hospital where she was declared dead.
The police verifyed the claims by Pati while waiting for post-mortem reports to confirm at the time and cause of the death of the woman.
The police said the duo had established a relationship for the past two years and they lived in rented accommodation in New Town Thakdari for the past four months.
