Technical Institutions Must Focus on Strengthening Academic Collaboration-Industry: J & K L-G

Srinagar: The government of Jammu and Kashmir is working on a plan to make the Union Capital Region of the country’s skill, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Thursday and asked the technical institution to focus on strengthening the collaboration of the academic industry.
The technical institute must also experiment with new technology for the benefit of the community, Sinha said during the virtual event to put the foundation stone for 700 bed hostels for boys at the National Institute of Technology in Srinagar.

“With our technical education infrastructure, a strict career program for high demand technology in the post-covid world, we are working on an ambitious plan to make the Jammu and Kashmir the capital’s skill of the country,” he said.
L-G asked the technical institution to focus on strengthening the collaboration of the academic industry, he said, very important for research, innovation and building human capital for economic growth.
The technology that appears is also a basic requirement of civilized society.
Without new discoveries, the developed community cannot be conceived, said Sinha.
Modern era engineering technology makes the world more connected and changed the lives of people living in distant areas.
Today’s fantasy can be a discovery tomorrow, said L-g.
Even a small discovery in the laboratory can make a big difference to the world and that is why it is important to promote scientific patience among students, he said.
Ending the power of youth as the biggest asset for each region, Sinha said that the potential of the younger generation needs to be channeled properly for the development.
He also underlined the need to encourage innovation and discovery recommended by new national education policies.
Union Minsiter Pradhan, in his video message, said that “Mega” Boys Hostel, after completing, will equip Nit-Srinagar with modern facilities that allow institutions to accommodate the increasing number of student intake.

Professor Rakesh Sehgal, Director, Nit-Srinagar, provides a detailed picture of the project and informs that the hostel is being built as a green building through the number of RS 85 Crore loans approved by the Higher Education Financing Agency on the Ministry of Education’s recommendations.
This will provide a number of facilities to students for their comfortable stay on campus, he added.
