Technology Disorders: Only 1% return on taxpayer files in Karnataka

Bengaluru: A large number of taxpayers in Karnataka have faced problems in submitting their return due to disruption in the new e-filing portal, which was launched by the center on June 7.
Nearly no 1 90 Lakh Taxpayers can complete the process online in the current year of assessment, according to senior officials in the Income Tax Department (IT), the Karnataka & Goa region.
The problem has accumulated ahead of the September 30 deadline.
This region stood in second place after Maharashtra in tax collection.
Collection for 2020-21 almost Rs 1.2 lakh crore; For this year (until June 30), it was Rs 30,942 Crore.
While taxpayers should file online returns, tax payments have not been blocked.
“When taxpayers have not been able to submit a return for the year ended March 2021, we are now processing the previous year’s return and issuing refunds.
We hope that insects in the newly set portal are earliest so we can take new returns to be processed,” said an official at Income Tax Processing Center, Bengaluru.
A I-T official said that some bugs had been repaired and taxpayers under TDS submitted a return.
But Corporate is still waiting since the face payment tax mode is not glitch.
The main problem completed “the main disturbance has been fixed.
We must overcome some of the problems that we continue to face in several functions, and there are new functions.
We work with collaboration with the IT department and other stakeholders,” said Infosys COO UB Pravin Rao, as mentioned at the press conference results in the recent quarter.
The development of the next generation I-T archiving system is intended to reduce processing time for returns from 63 days to one day and distribute refunds instantly.
But many taxpayers cannot even complete the first step of downloading the form 26a for paid tax verification in the TDS case, which is needed for submission of return.
“The biggest concern is that business owners and individuals cannot get bank loans, which must submit a copy of I-T’s return.
Corporate see their credit limit trapped or shrink,” said BT Shetty, Chair of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Branch Bengaluru.
According to Vivek Mallya, a rental accountant, refund processing up to hundreds of crores is waiting for the postage of archiving.
“The company’s working capital has been locked.
Waiting for individual taxpayers such as salary employees to get refunds seems nonstop,” he said.
Some problems on the portal are failures to recognize digital signatures of taxpayers and official consultants, the end of the session when uploading through JSON files, the assessment of non-shipping concepts, and failure to produce e-proceding through video conferencing.
The portal was reported to recognize July 31 as a deadline and consequently, resulting in a notification that is looking for a RS 1,000 penalty and forcing a 12 percent interest.
At present, returns can only be submitted online.
Various stakeholders, including CAS and business owners, urged the government to allow manual archiving.
