Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus will remain on who the head is

Geneva: Tedros Adhanom Ghebreesus, one of the most prominent figures during the Covid-19 pandemic, is the only candidate to lead the World Health Organization after the current time ends, WHO announced Friday.
In his application letter, the former Minister of Health and Overseas Ethiopia said Covid-19 had “destroyed the world” and in the second term, he wanted to make sure the planet was “really ready” to face a crisis like that.
Chosen to the WHO leadership in 2017, the five-year mandate was expired in August.
“One candidate was proposed by member countries at the time limit of September 23, 2021: Dr.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus,” WHO said in a statement.
Tedro was nominated by 28 countries, the UN health agency said.
Seventeen European Union members gave him their support, including Austria, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
German and Spanish nominations said strengthening WHO after the pandemic “must continue with full commitment and not divided”, said the organization requires “strong, pragmatic and visionary leadership”.
Outside of EU, Bahrain, Barbados, Botswana, Cook Islands, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Oman, Rwanda, Tonga and Trinidad and Tobago proposed Tedro, WHO statement showed.
Indonesia said the world still overcomes a pandemic “and requires sustainable leadership in WHO”.
Kenya, Oman and Rwanda said it was their deep belief that Tedros was “ideally placed to continue the role”.
– Experiencing Trump and China – Tedros, 56, graduated with a biology degree in his homeland before completing a master in the immunology of infectious diseases and doctoral degrees in public health in the UK.
He worked as a field Malarian expert in Ethiopia before leading the regional health bureau and then joined the government, working on minister’s rating.
In 2017, Tedros became the first African candidate to head a strong UN body.
Bonhomie his generals stood in contrast to the frosting of his predecessor Margaret Chan.
He has become a public face from WHO since the Covid-19 crisis began, and was relatively popular because of its role in directing organizational efforts to coordinate the pandemic response.
Tedros constantly went berserk against injustice in the launch of the global vaccine and urged the countries to “do everything” to bring controlled pandemics.
His leadership was blown up by former US President Donald Trump, who began to attract the United States from WHO, accusing it to become a Beijing doll and covered the virus outbreak.
Trump’s successor, Joe Biden stopped withdrawal, while Tedro had also been working on China by demanding a greater transparency over the outbreak of pandemic and put a new focus on the possibility that it might have leaked from the Wuhan laboratory.
He also faced criticism after a devastating report on allegations of rape and sexual assault by workers sent to fight Ebola in Dr.
Congo between 2018 and 2020 found that 21 who committed such violations.
– The work of ‘unfinished’ – in his application letter, Tedros said “the demands of lying in front have made me more determined than before”.
He said that under his leadership, a transformed and more prominent person “has survived the Biggest Seabad test to direct the world through an unprecedented health crisis”.
But he stressed: “Our work has not been completed.
Covid-19 has destroyed the world and leaves many things to rebuild.
It also shines for the spotlight on who is needed.” Tedro wants to strengthen the global public health defense “to ensure the world is truly ready to prevent, prepare for and respond to other crises of the nature of Covid-19 or worse”.
Formal member countries will vote for a little head in a secret balloon letter in May during the 75th World Health Assembly, the main annual meeting of the members of the member countries.
