Nagpur: A 16-year-old boy died after a truck crashed into the two wheels he was waiting for him near The Didhori Square who was busy on Thursday night.
Although the deceased, which was identified as Rakshak Umashankar Bhure, did not have a SIM, Wathoda Police arrested the truck driver Ram Kharule (26, a resident of Nagarjun Colony, Nara Road).
Police said Bahadura Fata Bhure Resident was driving a two-wheeled vehicle, while his friend Sahil Patankar was riding a pilot.
The duo crossed Dirhori Square when a truck was pushed in a hurry by Kharule crashed into their two-wheeled vehicles.
The impact is that Bhure fell before a truck and was destroyed under his wheels, police said.
The deceased was driving a vehicle without a helmet.
Patankar escaped with a minor injury, police said.
Because of being informed, the Wathoda police personnel reached the place and arrested the truck driver.
The police also held trucks.
Probe is further active.
South Nagpur residents said the number of minors was driving a vehicle, especially the two-wheeled, in the part of the city had improved manifold.
Not only did they drive at a breakneck speed but also violated the various provisions of the motor vehicle law, added residents.
They also claimed that traffic police were deployed in many busy boxes, including Diphori Square, always ignoring this “blatant violation” by minors.
