Coimbatore: A 19-year-old girl died at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital on February 1 after she eats carrots mixed with mouse poisons accidentally at Senkuttaipallayam near Kinathukadavu on January 31.
Almarhy was identified as D Emima Jacklin, 19, from Boyar Street in Senkuttaipallayam.
He was studying in the last year of BCOM in the Pollachi Government College.
Police said his mother Shanthi Grace was running a grocery store attached to his residence.
He had placed carrots mixed with poisons to kill mice on January 31.
Not realizing it, Emima took the carrot to his house where he ate it after cooking with other carrots.
Emima developed a severe vomiting and was rushed to the Polachi government hospital.
After treatment, he returned home.
However, on February 1, he again developed severe abdominal pain and rushed to the Polachi government hospital.
Then, he was referred to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where he died without responding to treatment at around 11pm.
The girl’s father filed a complaint to the Negamam police who registered a case.
After postmortem, the body was handed over to the family on Wednesday afternoon.
