New Delhi: Delhi police have arrested three people, including teenagers, after a short meeting near AIIMS, officials said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on the night intervention Monday and Tuesday when the police patrolled the Kotla Mubarakpur area.
During patrolling, the staff saw three people with bicycles.
Because of suspicion, they signaled a motorcycle to stop to check, but the driver was accelerated and tried to escape from the place, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Benita Mary Jaiker.
Police chase them.
When they reached the office block in Kidwai Nagar Timur, Pillion driver released a weapon and opened fire on the police.
The police also shot Billion Rider, who suffered an injury to his leg.
All three were accused of being arrested, said DCP.
They were identified as Abhi Saurav, Gurudev Singh and one teenager.
The police restored two state pistols and one live cartridge from their ownership, they said.
Saurav who was injured was treated at the center of AIIMS trauma.
The case has been registered at the Kotla Mubarakpur police station and further investigation is underway, the police added.
