Chennai: A 17-year-old girl, who recently wrote a national feasibility test (Neet), tried to make him burn on Thursday because he did not perform well in the examination, the police said.
The girl, a resident of Guduvanchery, survived at least 60% burned and had been treated at a government hospital in Chengalpet.
He was attended by a team of doctors.
The police, quoted the doctors, said the girl was in critical condition.
“The girl sat for Neet on September 12 and stressed over the results.
He was said to have been released and alone for the past few days and he burned himself when he was alone at home in Urapakkam,” said an officer.
The Guduvanchhery police, who received information from Chengalpet GH about the girl, rushed to the hospital and held an investigation.
On Wednesday, a 17-year-old girl from Katpadi in the Vellore District ended her life with fear of bad results after appearing for Neet.
The day after the exam, a 17-year-old student from the Satiyast district also ended his life.
At night the test, a 20-year-old man from Salem also took his life for fear that he would fail in the third test.
